The latest DotA or Defense of the Ancient map is "DotA All-stars 6.66b" and as of now the latest AI map is DotA All-stars 6.66b 0.2124 made by the famous AI script writer buffmeplz.

For those of you who are new to the DotA scene, AI stands for Artificial intelligence and a DotA AI map is where you can play alone just for fun or practice and fight computer enemy on DotA. For someone like me who has a laggy and slow internet connection an AI map is useful for practicing new heroes, try out some heroes I haven't tried yet, refresh your last hitting skill, and some other more. But don't rely your practice on computer too much as it really keeps your team reflexes dull and ganking awareness very low, but for starters this will be a great way to learn....

So enough with the introductions, how do you play a DotA map

The first thing you have to do is update the version of your Warcraft III: the frozen throne it is really very easy just follow this steps:

1. Download the following files Warcraft 3 Registry Fixer, 1.24d patch and Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86), DotA Allstars v6.66b AI 0.2141

notes: (just click right-click on the link then click save link as  to download and choose your desktop for the download location) see the image below

2. Go to your desktop and run vcredist_x86.exe - this is the file you saved from the first step you can see its name on the desktop. Just double click or right-click then Open.

3. Run or WC3Setup.exe - you will see a Start button, click on Start Then on the file name you will have to find your Warcraft 3 directory. You can find where your warcraft is by Right-clicking on the icon and clicking properties the directory is on the target of the shortcut

 Once you complete this step There will be a word ready and the start button will become close - just click close and your ready for the next step

4. Run the file called War3TFT_124d_English.exe and everything should go fine and your new Warcraft 3 1.24d will open upon completion of the patch.

5. Now for the last step - you will need to copy the file called DotA_Allstars_v6.66b_AI_0.2141.w3x from your desktop to your warcraft 3 Maps directory. To do this

1. right-click on the file and click copy -
2. Then right click on the shortcut of your warcraft, 
3. then click properties, 
4. after clicking properties, click Find Target, 
5. A new window will open, look for a folder called maps, double click it, paste it anywhere inside the maps folder
